In early April, a 90-year-old local resident turned to the police department in the Industrial District for help. She told the police that an unknown woman stole 600,000 rubles from her.
According to the victim, a woman approached her on the street and introduced herself as a doctor at the district hospital. She entered the apartment of a pensioner, where, under the pretext of removing the damage, she took possession of the funds.
During operational search activities, investigators established the identity and location of the suspect. The attacker turned out to be a resident of Yoshkar-Ola, previously convicted of a similar crime. She was ready to leave for her city on a regular bus, but at the last moment she was detained by police officers. The suspect did not deny her guilt and admitted to committing the crime. During a personal search, in the presence of witnesses, part of the money stolen from a 90-year-old pensioner was found on her.
A criminal case has been initiated against the person detained by the investigative department of the OP for the Industrial District of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Samara on the grounds of a crime under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”. The attacker was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention. Police officers are checking the detainee for committing similar crimes.
