To the anniversary year of Vasily Agapkin TSMPI named after. S. V. Rachmaninov dedicates various events: International presentation competition for students of the children’s music school and art school “Our Tambov region, prosper for centuries”; III All-Russian competition of young performers on wind instruments, named after Agapkin; Reporting concert of the department of wind and percussion instruments of the Children’s Music School named after. S. M. Starikova.
Let us remind you that the march “Farewell of the Slavyanka” was written by Vasily Agapkin in 1912 (under the impression of the events of the First Balkan War of 1912–1913), when he served on extended duty as a headquarters trumpeter in the 7th reserve cavalry regiment stationed in Tambov. Moreover, during this period, without interruption from his service, he studied in the brass class of the Tambov Music School. That is why the name of Agapkin and the birth of the march “Farewell of the Slavyanka” are inscribed in the history of TSMPI named after. S. V. Rachmaninov.
The concert starts (0+) at 18.30, admission is free.
