Preparations for the new heating season begin in Moscow

– From May to August, city services will carry out preventive inspections and repairs of utility networks, boiler room equipment, central heating points, and so on. In four months we will prepare over 74 thousand buildings, including 34.6 thousand apartment buildings. We will complete preparations for the autumn-winter period by August 25,” Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote in telegram channel Sergei Sobyanin.

13 thermal power plants, 38 district and 44 district thermal stations, as well as 97 small boiler houses will be prepared for the new autumn-winter period. Repairs are planned at the facilities of Mosenergo PJSC: 12 power units, 49 steam turbines, 29 combined cycle and gas turbine units, 231 water heating and 44 power boilers. Preventative work will be carried out on 492 network pumps and 63 network heaters and boilers, 71 electric generators and 74 transformers.

In total, over 74 thousand buildings will be prepared for the heating season. These include 34.6 thousand residential buildings, 8.6 thousand social and 30.8 thousand economic facilities.

Hydraulic tests will be carried out on 18.2 thousand kilometers of heating networks. In areas where consumers are not required to be disconnected, they began at the end of March.

PJSC “MOEK” will repair 44 thermal stations, 95 heating boiler houses, 10,744 heating points, and major repairs and reconstruction of 94.3 kilometers of heating networks are also planned.

In addition, more than 129.6 thousand kilometers of electrical networks will be fully prepared. Work is planned to reconstruct 231.2 kilometers of electrical networks and repair 1,793 transformer substations.

A preventive inspection of 12,902.3 kilometers of water supply networks and highways, as well as 5,812.1 kilometers of sewer networks is planned. The city will repair 3,819 wells, 165 fire hydrants and prepare 408 water dispensers for operation in winter conditions.

The systems will be ready to release heat to social facilities by September 1, and for mass heating supply by September 15.
