Sevastopol police detained a migrant who could not be found for six years after committing a robbery in Chelyabinsk, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol reported.

It was established that in 2018, a 30-year-old resident of Central Asia met a 34-year-old resident of Chelyabinsk on social networks and went to visit him with his friend.

During a short conversation, a conflict arose between new acquaintances, during which the guest demanded that the owner of the apartment exchange smartphones, and upon receiving a refusal, began to threaten him with a knife. His accomplice helped to tie up the intractable owner and threatened to beat him.

After that, the attackers took everything they considered necessary from the owner’s house: a smartphone worth 45 thousand rubles, clothes they liked, food, and fled the crime scene.

Only after six years of operational search activities, employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Chelyabinsk were able to determine that one of the raiders had moved to Sevastopol.

“Thanks to the close interaction of the employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Sevastopol, their colleagues from Chelyabinsk and employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, with the force support of the special unit SOBR “Falcon” of the Russian Guard, the attacker was detained and taken to Chelyabinsk,” the police said.

The foreign guest is suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, as well as with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons.”

He faces imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years with a fine of up to 1 million rubles or in the amount of wages or other income of the convicted person for a period of up to 5 years, or without it, and with or without restriction of freedom for a term of up to two years.

In addition, Sevastopol employees of the migration department established repeated violations by the suspect of the regime of stay in Russia, as well as the submission of false information when registering for migration.

In relation to the foreign guest, administrative protocols were drawn up under three articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, and a decision was made to revoke the temporary residence permit in Russia.

Not long ago ForPost wrote about an employee of the migration department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol, who fictitiously registered 111 citizens from Central Asia. At the moment, the criminal case against the woman is being considered in court.
