Since the beginning of the year, more than 600 prisoners have learned about effective ways to find employment thanks to the services of the “Work of Russia” personnel center.

In January of this year, agreements were concluded between employment centers of the Omsk region, colonies and correctional centers on the implementation of joint work in the field of social adaptation and employment of convicts.

As part of the “School of Preparation for Liberation” program, experienced career consultants from “Russia Works” conduct targeted activities in the training format.

Specialists go to places of detention and inform program participants about a wide range of services provided by the personnel center. They introduce convicts to current vacancies on the labor market, guide them in the process of job search and employment, and help in preparing the necessary documents.

On average, 40-50 people are always present at meetings.

When employing a citizen who has recently been released, it is necessary to take into account a number of individual factors: characteristics of his character, life situation, psychological state, and so on. Our goal is not just to find a job for a former convict, but also to create conditions for the fastest and most successful re-socialization, to help master lost basic social functions. It is important to help them become full members of society and realize their abilities“, – said Head of the Department of Career Guidance and Career Consulting of the Employment Center of the City of Omsk and Omsk Region Olga Kuznetsova.

One example of successful employment is the assistance in finding a job provided by the employment center to a resident of S. The girl contacted the institution with a request for assistance in finding a job. The applicant’s independent job search did not bring any results: employers were not ready to make her an offer. The center specialist assigned to the Omsk resident showed not only professionalism, but also empathy. In addition to selecting vacancies, he provided her with the necessary psychological support and was able to convince her that it was worth considering options with more flexible conditions. This approach helped the applicant expand her search range. Soon an option was found that satisfied both parties. After a successful interview, Elena was accepted into the sewing industry.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the year in the Omsk region, specialists have already carried out 10 visits to correctional institutions. About 40 people released from prison applied to employment centers in the region, 28 of them were registered as unemployed, and 12 had already found suitable work.
