Citizens choose affordable modern electric transport for their daily trips. During the season, 2,000 new electric scooters will be available to residents and guests of the city. This year, the MTS digital ecosystem will focus on safety as part of its own strategy “Year of the Safe Scooter”.
For safety reasons, the operator, together with the City Administration, has identified 65 “slow zones”, the speed of electric scooters in which will slow down to 15 km/h daily from 8:00 to 00:00. Additional travel restrictions will apply over the holidays. These are areas with high pedestrian traffic, for example, the intersection of Respubliki and Melnikaite streets, in the area of Profsoyuznaya Street. In this case, no additional actions are required from users – all electric scooters are equipped with a built-in IoT module, thanks to which the devices will automatically and very smoothly reduce speed in certain areas.
This season, 150 universal parking lots for kick-sharing have been marked, which will help avoid random stopping of scooters and preserve the appearance of the city. Residents of Tyumen will be able to complain about poorly parked scooters and other violations through a special chatbot.
As part of the “Safe Scooter” year, MTS Yurent tested knowledge of traffic rules directly in the application. Currently, taking the 10-question test is voluntary; in the future, it is planned to make it mandatory for new users. Users will also receive a notification about the need to take a test if they have violated traffic rules.
An internal user rating has become available for Tyumen residents. This means that information about violations, if any, are recorded, is entered into each user’s card. For violations, sanctions are introduced ranging from warnings to blocking: in case of repeated or serious violations, for example, transferring an account to minors, the user will be blocked from the operator’s application. The service collects information about violations on scooters from law enforcement agencies. The service also has a dedicated support line, to which anyone can send information about traffic violations on scooters.
Additionally, the scooters are equipped with turn signals on the steering wheel and rear wing of the scooter, which increases the predictability of the driver of the personal mobility device for others and the safety of all road users.

According to MTS Yurent, in 2023 the number of trips increased 2.4 times and exceeded 70 million throughout the country.
