In Saratov, the first victims of ticks contacted doctors

Tick ​​season begins in the Saratov region.

Doctors at Saratov Hospital No. 6 expect a massive turnout of patients after tick bites. Just last week four people contacted them.

“We traditionally record the largest number of calls in May. All patients who came to us had insects removed and did not require further treatment,” said the head of the hospital’s emergency room Yana Yumasheva.

Doctors ask Saratov residents to be as careful as possible at their dachas and parks. During trips into nature, experts advise covering your head and other parts of the body with clothes, wearing high closed shoes, and not lying on the grass.

There are no encephalitis ticks in our region. In the Saratov region, simple ticks live – forest ticks. But their bites can cause serious inflammation.
