“Sanctions” up to tomatoes: half a ton of vegetables from Spain and Holland were detained on the border with Lithuania

In a truck that was traveling to the Kaliningrad region from the capital region in transit through Lithuania, 553 kg of sanctioned vegetables were found. This was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Kaliningrad Regional Customs on Thursday, April 25.

During the search, 58 boxes of fresh tomatoes produced in the Netherlands and 60 boxes of peppers from Spain were found in the back. The goods were seized for destruction.

“The issue of bringing administrative liability against the carrier company is being considered,” the customs said.

April 23 at a warehouse in the village bordering Lithuania. Chernyshevskoe seized 4.5 tons of sanctioned fruits and vegetables.
