Author of State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company TAMBOV Today, an athletics race dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War starts from the Walk of Fame of Derzhavin University. The race was first held in 1980 from Tambov to the village of Osino-Gai, the birthplace of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya.
Today, the route of the run has expanded significantly – it will be 42 kilometers and will pass through the territory of Tambov, the villages of Malinovka, Chernyanoye, Goreloye, Troitskaya Dubrava, Viryatino and the village of Sosnovka. Over the years of the project’s existence, more than a thousand people have taken part in the runs. The organizers of the marathon note that every year the event brings together not only athletes and students, but even veterans and children of war.
