In St. Petersburg, in the first quarter, 98.7% of public transport passengers paid for their fares electronically. Last year for the same period – 98%, the press service of the Transport Committee reported.

In particular, the popularity of paying for travel with bank cards has grown by almost 45% – more than 71 million trips, or 17.2% of the total for all types of travel cards. Passengers made 161 million trips, or 39%, using Podorozhnik. 5.6 million trips were paid for in cash – 1.3%. A single ticket based on a QR code was used more than 8 thousand times in the first three months of the year.

A further 170 million trips, or 41%, were made using discounted travel passes, including pupil, student and pension passes. In addition, over 5 million trips were made by beneficiaries such as children without parental care, disabled people, and children of SVO participants.
