The record-breaking motor rally across 85 regions of Russia, including annexed territories, started on April 8 in Moscow at VDNKh. The expedition finishes in October in Magadan, on the shores of Nagaevskaya Bay.

The organizer of the expedition is a Russian television journalist, author and presenter of many programs on automobile topics on various television channels, an athlete-racing driver and traveler with 25 years of experience in automobile rallies throughout Russia, Andrei Leontyev.

Participants in the road expedition have four main goals: to tell a wide audience about the people who contributed to the development of their small homeland, to set a world record for a road rally within the borders of one country along a unique route, to conduct a full audit of the country’s attractions, road routes and tourist infrastructure, as well as to recreate and to complement the famous collection of color photographs of Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky.

The culmination of the rally will be a photo project – this voluminous archive will be collected in book format, in online and printed versions, and a series of documentaries about Russia.
