The Oktyabrsky District Court announced a verdict in the criminal case against the former deputy head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Arkhangelsk Region, Pyatakov, who was found guilty of abuse of power.
According to the press service of the court, the convict, while performing his official duties, in 2015-2020 abused his official powers in order to organize the conclusion by the Institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Arkhangelsk Region of state contracts for the purchase of goods, materials and equipment in organizations controlled by his acquaintance, which led to a significant violation of the rights and legitimate interests of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Arkhangelsk Region, an increase in the cost of manufactured products, a decrease in demand for them from colleagues, a complete lack of demand for manufactured products from buyers outside the Federal Penitentiary Service and the complete stoppage of a number of productions, and also causing the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Arkhangelsk Region material damage in the amount of at least 4,567,055 rubles.
By the verdict of the Oktyabrsky District Court, the convict was sentenced to forced labor for a period of 2 years with the deduction of 10% from wages to the state income, as well as an additional punishment in the form of deprivation of the right to hold positions in the civil service related to the implementation of organizational, administrative and economic activities. powers for a period of 2 years.
The civil claim in the criminal case was left without consideration. Claims of a property nature are subject to resolution through civil proceedings.
