In Irkutsk, state traffic inspectors recorded 46 violations during the operational and preventive operation “Gosnomer”. It was aimed at suppressing the operation of vehicles that are not registered in accordance with the established procedure, with an unreadable license plate. The State Traffic Inspectorate of the city reported this on April 25, 2024.

During control and supervisory activities, traffic inspectors brought to administrative responsibility:

  • four drivers who drove a car that was not registered with the state,
  • five motorists for repeated driving of a vehicle that is not registered in the prescribed manner.
  • Eight facts of driving a car without license plates were revealed.

For driving a vehicle with an unreadable license plate, a fine of 500 rubles is imposed. Driving a vehicle without state registration plates or with modified or hidden license plates entails a fine in the amount of 5 thousand rubles or deprivation of the right to drive for up to 3 months. Driving with a knowingly false registration plate threatens the motorist with deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for up to 1 year.
