In Ulyanovsk, the burials at the Resurrection necropolis were put in order
On the eve of the anniversary of the Great Victory, Ulyanovsk volunteers cleaned up the Resurrection Necropolis, the press service of the city administration reports.
Activists of the All-Russian Popular Front and Victory Volunteers movements, cadets of the college of state and municipal service and the Suvorov Military School, as well as representatives of bailiffs, tidied up the burials of the defenders of the Motherland, home front workers and all residents of the city whose biographies are connected with the war years.
According to the acting Head of the Youth Affairs Department Irina Zvonareva, two more cleanup days will be organized at the old cemetery in the near future.
The Resurrection Necropolis on Karl Marx Street is the oldest cemetery in Ulyanovsk, now closed for burials. On its territory there are more than 20 thousand graves, about half of which are related to the events of the Great Patriotic War.
