The St. George’s Ribbon event in the Kaluga region will be held at more than 400 venues this year. About 40 thousand ribbons will be distributed, including five thousand in Kaluga. Activists of the “Volunteers of Victory” movement have already begun work. The tapes are distributed at the site in front of the Central Cinema and on Stepan Razin Street Boulevard from 15:00 to 17:00.
“Volunteers don’t just hand out ribbons to passersby. To receive a ribbon, you need to correctly answer a number of questions about the history of the appearance of the St. George ribbon and the rules for wearing it,”
– said the head of the department of military-patriotic education of the Regional Youth Center Artyom Mitrokhin.
As explained at the youth center, if a person answers correctly, he receives a ribbon. If it is incorrect, the volunteer gives him a leaflet with information about the tape and invites him to contact the volunteer next time.
