How public spaces in the west of Moscow will change, the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin said in his blog.

“As before, the main improvement work in 2024 will take place outside the center. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Muscovites will have a comfortable environment close to home. In the west of Moscow, it is planned to renovate five fairly large public spaces,” the mayor announced.

A sports cluster will be built in the Novo-Peredelkino area on Lukinskaya Street. Now this place is a vacant lot, but later there will be space for sports and active recreation.

There will be a skate park with jumps, a pump track, as well as a site with a concrete bowl for skateboarding, rollerblading, stunt scooters and BMX bicycles. In addition, there will be a workout area and a mini-football field. A sports complex in the “Russian ninja” style will be installed nearby to develop coordination, dexterity, arm and shoulder strength, as well as practice rock climbing techniques.

Several play areas will be created for children of different ages. Thanks to large eco-style complexes, children will be able to climb rope ladders, swing on ropes, slide down slides and explore secret holes.

“Last year, in the same area, we gave a second life to the park near house 2, building 1 on Novoorlovskaya street. Before the improvement, the area was poorly maintained. Now residents of nearby houses and visitors to nearby clinics have a place to relax and have fun with their children,” wrote Sergei Sobyanin.

In Ochakovo-Matveevsky, the valley of the Navershka River will be put in order. The boundaries of the property include an empty green area located on both sides of the reservoir. Nearby there is a residential neighborhood on Ochakovskoye Highway and school No. 97.

First, specialists will strengthen the banks of Navershka and also create an extensive network of walking paths. Some of the paths will be made of eco-materials that allow moisture to pass through, and the other will be made of wooden eco-flooring. Benches and hanging swings will be installed along the paths. The lighting system will be complemented by architectural and artistic lighting built into the eco-flooring.

Last year, in this area, the areas near the Aminevskaya station of the fourth Moscow Central Diameter and the station of the same name on the Big Circle Metro Line were landscaped.

In addition, the territory of the Scientific and Practical Center for Child Psychoneurology of the Moscow Department of Health has been transformed. 11 children’s playgrounds with play complexes were installed here, and street exercise equipment was installed in three places.

In 2023, as part of the first stage of improvement, the territory of the preschool buildings of school No. 1584 was cleaned up, 12 playgrounds and four sports grounds in the courtyards were updated, and a walking area with swings and flower beds was installed.

This season, the improvement of walking routes will be completed. Bicycle parking will be installed in the microdistrict and slopes will be repaired. This will create barrier-free routes for pedestrians.

“We will set up four play areas for children, divided by age. For kids – sandboxes, swings, low slides, carousels and rocking chairs. For older children, there are multifunctional play complexes with elements of a climbing wall, rope ascents and descents, hammocks and various elements for climbing and developing motor skills and mobility,” added Sergei Sobyanin.
