Earlier it was reported that the mayor’s office planned to install 5-6 public free toilets in Tomsk in 2024; 10 addresses were named where toilets are needed most. In 2024, the authorities intended to install a toilet in the park near the Avangard cultural center and restart the previously operating toilet at the Yuzhnaya Square stop. 6 million rubles have been allocated from the city budget for these purposes.
“Our module is a “London” type toilet. This model was called that. We proceeded from the fact that if we install different toilets, we will again be like a swan, a crayfish and a pike. And we decided that the module should remain a module. Let’s say the color and the size may change, but the appearance should be the same,” said Zhivoglyadov.
He added that toilets of this type are already being installed in Perm and Vladimir. Prices start from 874 thousand rubles and end at 6 million. Zhivoglyadov also said that to install toilets, the mayor’s office decided not to cut into ready-made systems, but to drill water wells on site and install a septic tank or cesspool.
“It will be cheaper than cutting into the network later and paying for it. Approximate prices: technological connection to electrical networks averages 55 thousand. The average cost of 1 meter of connection to outdoor lighting networks is from 13 to 18 thousand rubles,” said head of department.
Now the mayor’s office will prepare several technical specifications: with two rooms (for people with disabilities and a common room for men and women) and three booths (in this case, there will be separate men’s and women’s toilets). “We will prepare the terms of reference, ten days will be enough.
