The Russian Federation launched strikes on the Cherkasy and Dnepropetrovsk regions – DW – 04/25/2024

In the Cherkasy region of the same name region of Ukraine, as a result of a Russian attack, according to preliminary information, a critical infrastructure facility was damaged. This was announced on the Telegram channel on the morning of Thursday, April 25, by the head of the regional military administration (OVA) Igor Taburets.

“In the morning, the enemy attacked our Cherkasy region. Comprehensive air defense defense worked against a high-speed air target,” he wrote. According to Taburts, after the Russian air attack, six people sought medical help, but there were no casualties.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian online publication Liga.net reported with reference to its correspondent that on the night of April 25, explosions were heard in the city of Smela, Cherkasy region. At about 5.30 am, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces notified on Telegram about the missile danger in the Cherkasy and Kyiv regions. Literally two minutes later a post was published about a “high-speed target” in the direction of Cherkassy.

Earlier that same night, the Ukrainian Air Force reported about a missile threat in the Poltava and Sumy regions and about a “high-speed target” in the direction of Mirgorod. At 5.44 the alarm was cleared.

The head of the Dnepropetrovsk OVA, Sergei Lysak, also reported on the night attack of the Russian Armed Forces on the region on the Telegram channel.

According to him, “Nikopol itself, Manganets and the Krasnogrigoryevsk community were covered with artillery fire.” As a result of the air attack, a gas pipeline caught fire, and two private houses, a greenhouse, a monument, power lines and a street lighting mast were also damaged. A private house near the town of Sinelnikovo was also damaged, Lysak clarified later. However, there were no human casualties in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
