The Supreme Court of Russia reduced the prison term of the ex-deputy mayor of Kursk and former chief of the Kursk police Nikolai Zaitsev, who was involved in the case of the Volobuev brothers.

As a result of consideration of cassation appeals, Nikolai Zaitsev’s sentence was reduced from 9 to 8.5 years. The prison term for Dmitry Volobuev was also reduced from 24 to 23.5 years. The punishments for the remaining defendants in the case were left unchanged. This was reported by the press service of the judicial system of the Kursk region.
