On Thursday, May 9, the city will host traditional events – the Victory Waltz, the Memory Relay, the Victory Candle, a review competition of units of Post No. 1, a military defile festival, and wreath- and flower-laying ceremonies.
– The main holiday of the country cannot be imagined without the Immortal Regiment. Like last year, it will be held without a large-scale procession; alternative formats for participation in the action have been prepared,” city mayor Dmitry Denisov said on April 25. – Kaluga residents will decorate the walls of memory with photographs of their ancestors in institutions, enterprises, schools, hang portraits in the windows of their houses, on cars, on social networks.
The main venue for the May 9 celebration will be Theater Square. The concert there will begin at 12:00. And on the pedestrian part of Teatralnaya Street there will be a festival of soldiers’ porridge.
