25th of April. Inspection of a small vessel during operation is carried out once every five years, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Magadan Region told MagadanMedia.
This procedure is carried out by appointment at the Magadan Inspectorate Office at st. New, 4b every Thursday. You can make an appointment by calling 60-88-46, during a personal visit or through a single portal of government services. During the inspection, you must have your passport, ship’s ticket and technical documentation for the vessel and engine with you. There is no state fee for carrying out a technical inspection; the procedure is carried out free of charge.
A mobile inspection point is deployed at the GIMS Center, electricity and water are supplied to check engines, and a gas analyzer is connected. A boat arrives for inspection on a trailer with a motor installed on the transom, with gasoline, and equipped in accordance with the regulations. Reminders about the regulations are issued to shipowners during the registration of the watercraft. Registration numbers must be marked on board the vessel in a contrasting color. During the inspection, the vessel is examined, the condition of the vessel’s hull is examined, as well as the consistency of its operational and technical characteristics. In addition, ships registered after 2017 must have a Russian flag, which is applied to the ship’s hull or mounted on a flagpole.

During the inspection, the engine is started, and the emission of harmful gases is checked using a gas analyzer. The numbers on the hull of the boat and on the engine are also checked, and the completeness is checked according to the standards. Small motor vessels up to 6 meters in length must be equipped with oars, a sound signaling device, a flashlight, life jackets for the number of people on board, flares, a bailer and an Alexandrov end. In addition, it is additionally recommended to have a first aid kit, a boat hook, communication equipment, a magnetic compass or a GPS navigator. For vessels over 6 meters, in addition to the above list, a fire extinguisher, a lifebuoy and an anchor with an anchor rope are required.
For going to sea without a survey, a fine of 5 to 10 thousand rubles is provided.
