Police officers, while monitoring the media and the Internet on April 22, 2024, identified a video recording that recorded a gross violation of traffic rules: the driver of a Skoda Octavia did not give priority to an ambulance with a flashing light and a special signal on.

Employees of the traffic police regiment of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Samara quickly established data and collected administrative material regarding the driver captured on video.

A resident of Samara, born in 1976, pleaded guilty to committing an unlawful act, liability for which is provided for in Part 2 of Article 12.17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to provide an advantage in traffic to a vehicle that has special color schemes, inscriptions and designations applied to the outer surfaces, with a flashing light turned on at the same time blue color and a special sound signal). The materials collected by the State Traffic Inspectorate employees were sent to the court to make a decision on the merits of the case. The sanction of the article incriminated against the offender provides for punishment in the form of a fine from three thousand to five thousand rubles or deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of three months to one year.

Police officers also noted that eyewitnesses did not report the offender to the police, but rushed to share the video on social networks. Meanwhile, the faster the police receive information about an ongoing, planned or occurred illegal event, the greater the likelihood that the offender will be detained as soon as possible and will suffer a well-deserved punishment.
