The defendants (two men and a woman) made three dummies of improvised explosive devices, which they placed on November 17, 2023 in Tver under the supports of two road bridges across the Tvertsa River. After that, they called the law enforcement agencies and reported an impending act of terrorism.
As it became known, the criminals were employees of a private organization that provides security services at transport infrastructure facilities.
Immediately, the first department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, based on materials provided by the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Tver Region, initiated a criminal case.
As a result of the interaction between employees of the Investigative Committee, the FSB Directorate and the Russian National Guard, two men were detained and charged. Their homes were searched and objects and documents relevant to the investigation were confiscated. The woman is not on the territory of the Russian Federation, she has been charged in absentia and has been put on the international wanted list.
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention against the accused. A similar preventive measure was taken against the woman in absentia.
The investigation is ongoing.
