A few days ago, in one of the parks in the city of Kurgan, a child left a stunt scooter unattended. A 58-year-old woman, who was also in the park at the time, took advantage of the situation. She stole a scooter, causing damage to the owner in the amount of eight thousand rubles.

As a result of operational search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the police department No. 3 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kurgan established the identity and place of residence of the specified citizen. The stolen scooter was confiscated from her.

An investigator from Police Department No. 3 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kurgan opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime provided for in Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft.” The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years. A preventive measure was chosen against the suspect in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior.

Police officers urge residents of the Trans-Urals to take care of the safety of their property and not leave bicycles and scooters unattended in public places in order to avoid their possible theft.
