Irkutsk resident sentenced to 18 years in prison for double murder – Irkutsk Today

A 35-year-old man appeared in court in Irkutsk. He was found guilty of double murder, rape and drug possession. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.

In the summer of 2023, during a feast, a conflict occurred between two men. As a result, the defendant grabbed a knife and stabbed his friend. A mutual friend of theirs witnessed the crime. She tried to run away, but the man shot her in the leg and raped her. The 27-year-old girl died from blood loss.

The next day the criminal was detained by the police. At his home they found 3 kg of cannabis.

The court sentenced the Irkutsk resident to 18 years in a maximum security colony with restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year.
