In the Kaliningrad region, in 2024, a hospital for war veterans will be renovated using funds from the regional budget.

Every year, 1,600 people receive health treatment at the facility. In 2022, a center for psychological support and rehabilitation of combat veterans and members of their families was created there.

As part of the federal target program “Perpetuating the memory of those killed in defense of the Fatherland,” since 2019, restoration work has been carried out on military graves, memorial signs have been made and installed on them, and the names of those killed in defense of the Fatherland have been inscribed on memorial structures. In 2024, the program ends, but relevant activities will continue, the press service of the government of the Kaliningrad region commented in Kaliningrad today, April 25, 2024, to the My Kaliningrad correspondent.

On the territory of the Kaliningrad region, 32 monuments and 158 military graves are registered with the state as objects of cultural heritage. The work to bring them to a standard state is carried out by municipalities.

The cadet movement is actively developing in the region – 4.5 thousand students.
