In Tambov, police detained a 31-year-old local resident who, while working in one of the banks in the regional center, stole client funds.
A 73-year-old pensioner applied to the OP No. 1 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Tambov with a statement that funds in the amount of 75,000 rubles were stolen from his bank account.
During operational investigative activities, police officers found that the victim received a notification in March of this year about the need to make payments on an overdue debt on a credit card, which amounted to 75,000 rubles. The man turned to the employees of his bank for help, applying for a consumer loan in the amount of 100,000 rubles. So he wanted to solve the problem of paying off his credit card debt. The operator of the institution helped in obtaining a consumer loan, she allegedly transferred the money received from it to the victim’s credit card, and also gave the difference of 25,000 rubles between the loans to the pensioner. After which the bank employee said that the operation was completed and the funds would soon be credited to the credit card. However, the applicant later learned that he had been deceived.
During the investigation, it was possible to identify the bank employee who served the man that day. Law enforcement officers also managed to find out what actually happened to the victim’s money. It turned out that the specialist transferred the funds received from the client’s consumer loan to her personal account. The suspect was detained.
The investigation is ongoing. Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under clause G, part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”.
