In the All-Russian competition “Marshal Zhukov” in the nomination “Heroes of Our Time” the 7th grade team from secondary school No. 26 of Kaluga, consisting of Timofey Matveikin, Denis Popkov, Tikhon Cherevaty and their leader – history teacher Alla Chernyaeva, won. Their work was dedicated to the school graduates who died during the SVO.

The purpose of the competition, which is held by the Victory Museum and the Strategic Initiatives Fund of the Victory Museum as part of the project “Children’s Historical Forum “Marshal Zhukov”, is to popularize important dates in the history of the country, study the legacy of the great commander, and preserve the memory of war heroes. The competition has four nominations: “G.K. Zhukov: from private to marshal”, “Lessons of the great commander”, “Local history. History and Stories” and “Heroes of Our Time”. This year, the organizing committee received 554 applications from 76 regions of the Russian Federation, including the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics, as well as Belarus.
