In the case of giving a bribe to the Deputy Minister of Defense, the co-founder of the company that is building the Ulpress Suvorov School in Ulyanovsk was detained

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow granted the request of the preliminary investigation authorities and arrested another defendant in the criminal case of Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov, accused of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale – Alexander Fomin. This was reported by the press service of the capital’s courts of general jurisdiction.

Fomin will remain in pre-trial detention until June 23. He is charged with committing a crime under Part 5 of Art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving bribes on an especially large scale). Vedomosti, citing a source familiar with the investigation, wrote on the night of April 25 that there is a third person involved in the case, named Fomin. According to the SPARK Interfax system, Fomin is a co-founder of Olimpsitistroy LLC. Fomin was a contractor and, as the interlocutor believed, it was him who the investigation considered to be the bribe-giver, which was confirmed this morning.

The company “OlympCityStroy” was founded in 2006. Alexander Fomin has a medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, for the construction of medical centers for the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Moscow OlympCityStroy LLC is a major contractor of the Ministry and has government contracts worth tens of billions of rubles. The company has built various military educational institutions in the regions of Russia, is restoring Mariupol, etc. Olimpsitistroy is also the contractor for the construction of the new Suvorov School in the Zavolzhsky district of Ulyanovsk. The educational institution opposite the 40th Anniversary of the Komsomol park on the Upper Terrace is due to open this year. At the first stage, an educational building, two dormitory buildings for 240 and 320 people, a dining room for 620 seats, an indoor sports complex, etc. will be built here. The second stage of construction, as specified by the military, which will finish in the spring of 2025, will add another sports complex with a swimming pool and an ice skating rink to the existing infrastructure. The parade ground with space for the orchestra will become the centerpiece. There will also be four multi-purpose sports grounds.
