For almost 920 thousand rubles, 14 schools in Sevastopol will be connected to the unified city system “Safe City” with the placement of “smart” video cameras on the territory of educational institutions. As follows from the technical specifications in the materials of the public procurement, the video monitoring system will be combined with the Argus hardware and software complex, the considerable capabilities of which ForPost reported repeatedly.

The area covered by the “eyes” of video cameras will include the entrance to the school grounds and places of mass gatherings of children, such as sports and assembly halls, canteens, corridors and lobbies.

The most video cameras will be placed in the State Budgetary Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 27” – as many as 8. The fewest – 3 each – in schools No. 3, No. 30 and No. 52. ForPost’s own sources in the government of Sevastopol clarified that the number of cameras placed depends on the layout specific school and its size.

Let us remind you: by 2025 in Sevastopol, the Argus system should grow to 3,000 video cameras, 800 of which will be able to recognize and identify specific citizens, as well as car license plates. According to official data, by 2024 in Sevastopol, 1,100 video cameras were supposed to be connected to Argus, that is, in a year the number of video surveillance points should almost triple. Moreover, in 2016 installation “up to 30 video cameras” was positioned as a serious technical achievement.
