25th of April. Irkutsk will be allocated more funds than originally planned for road repairs under the national project “Safe Quality Roads.” We are talking about financing from the regional budget. In total, the regional cauldron will allocate 1.5 billion rubles for road repairs of city streets this year. As the press service of the Angara region government clarifies, this is 400 million rubles more than planned at the beginning of the year. Taking into account funds from the local treasury, 2.3 billion rubles will be allocated for road repairs, reports IrkutskMedia news agency.

This information was announced by the regional governor Igor Kobzev at the report of the mayor of Irkutsk Ruslan Bolotov today, April 25.

“This year, under the national project, Irkutsk will receive 49% of the total funds allocated for the current repair of highways in large cities of the Irkutsk region. We are ready to increase funding, but at the same time we demand quality! We must strive to ensure that all the main streets of Irkutsk have repairs the work was carried out in a single complex. The road surface is being repaired – all the infrastructure work must be completed right away: sidewalks, bus stops, re-laying communications, so that it doesn’t happen, as in the sad saying: “If the road is asphalted today, then pipes will be laid under it tomorrow.” ,” noted Igor Kobzev.

We would like to add that the Irkutsk authorities are now deciding which additional facilities will be included in the list of BKD repairs for this year. Previously, it was planned to bring 18 sections of city roads with a total length of 19 km to standard condition. Among them is a section of Leningradskaya street 1.5 km long, Gorky and Jacobi – 1.3 km each, Tchaikovsky and 25th October – a kilometer each. Contracts for work on them have already been concluded.

The governor noted that in his message to the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk Region, he voiced the priority road work that is necessary for the city. These include reconstruction of the Lermontovskaya interchange, entrances to Irkutsk from the village of Khomutovo on the Kachugsky tract and from the city of Shelekhov, changes in access roads and parking patterns at the airport station area. For these facilities, within the framework of their powers, the Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities of the Irkutsk Region, the administration of Irkutsk and JSC Irkutsk International Airport are developing design documentation. The city administration is recommended to begin developing design documentation for the arrangement of a through passage along Piskunova Street.

In 2024, with the support of the government of the Irkutsk region, the city of Irkutsk received 80 new large-class buses and one medium-sized one through a special treasury loan from the Territorial Development Fund. They are used both on urban and horticultural routes.

“I agree with Ruslan Nikolaevich that one of the most painful topics for Irkutsk residents is putting things in order in the field of public transport. Together we began to resolve the issue of updating rolling stock. Now it is necessary to deal with electric transport, enter into government programs, update equipment, and resolve the issue of shortage driver and technical personnel of transport enterprises, I propose that the Ministry of Transport, together with city administrations, hold a meeting and analyze the problems of urban transport,” noted Igor Kobzev.
