Residents of the region are reminded of the need to comply with safety measures.

According to the Kostroma Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, a thunderstorm is expected on April 25 in Kostroma and in some places in the region. During a thunderstorm – increased southeast wind with gusts up to 17 meters per second. Strong winds can cause power supply disruptions, the fall of billboards, tower cranes, trees, and the collapse of wide-span building elements made of light metal structures.

The risk of traffic accidents and congestion on roads increases due to the meteorological situation. Drivers are advised to strictly follow traffic rules, speed limits and distances.

The Department of Regional Security of the Kostroma Region and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Kostroma Region ask residents of the region to take this information into account in their daily activities, as well as to observe precautionary measures. If the wind increases, limit leaving the house and do not leave children unattended.

If emergency situations (incidents) occur, immediately inform the operational services of the region by calling 112.
