On September 1, two new military schools will begin operating in Ulyanovsk, Governor Alexey Russkikh announced this during his report to the ZSO.
– In 2023, with the assistance of the government of the Ulyanovsk region, the construction of new buildings of the Suvorov School on the Upper Terrace was actively carried out. Classes will begin there on September 1, 2024. We also managed to achieve a fundamental decision by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to create a Higher Military Aviation School in Ulyanovsk on the basis of a former technical school. Future pilots of the Military Transport Aviation (MTA) will also begin their studies there on September 1,” said the head of the region.
According to the Russians, there are also plans for the former cadet corps of the Suvorov Military School in Krasnoznamenny Lane. Negotiations are currently underway to create an interuniversity military department there for higher educational institutions.
– There are questions with financing, because this burden should then fall on the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. But we must resolve this issue, especially taking into account the country’s tasks set in the Northern Military District,” Russkikh said.
