April 25, 2024, AEX.RU – The Russian Embassy in Ankara sent a note to the Turkish Foreign Ministry regarding the transit of Russian tourists to Latin America, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. RBC writes about this.

The day before, the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, called the situation with Turkish Airlines’ refusal to board flights of Russians flying through Istanbul to Latin America unacceptable. In April, the Association of Russian Tour Operators reported that three Russian women were not allowed on a flight to Mexico. Turkish Airlines explains this by the requirements of the countries to which they were flying.

The Russian Embassy noted cases where airline employees “behave not entirely correctly.”
