Ulyanovsk resident robbed visitors to entertainment establishments

In the Leninsky district of Ulyanovsk, police detained a 40-year-old unemployed local resident suspected of a series of thefts committed in entertainment establishments in the city, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

So, last week, a 63-year-old Ulyanovsk resident contacted the police, from whom 50 thousand rubles were stolen. A man was relaxing in one of the karaoke clubs, and a stranger sat down at his table and offered him a drink. The victim agreed. A conversation ensued between them, during which the attacker, distracting the victim with conversation, quietly searched the pockets of his jacket, which was lying on the back of the sofa, and stole money.

Operatives detained a suspect in the crime. As it turned out, three weeks earlier, in one of the entertainment establishments, he stole 180 thousand rubles from another person in a similar way.

Criminal cases have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The detainee was taken into custody.
