The spawning period began in the Chelyabinsk region on April 25.

In the Chelyabinsk region today, April 25, the spawning period began. The regional Ministry of Ecology reminded about the restrictions imposed on fishing.

Considering the special importance of the spawning period for preserving the fish population and their reproduction, at this time the legislation establishes a number of restrictions both for a number of types of fishing resources and for related areas of activity, the department notes. — In accordance with the fishing rules approved by order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation No. 646, there are prohibitions on catching aquatic biological resources on water bodies of fishery importance in the Chelyabinsk region»

Thus, from April 25 to June 5, the industrial extraction of all types of aquatic biological resources is prohibited in three reservoirs of the region – Lake Ulagach, Troitsky and Yuzhnouralsk reservoirs, from May 5 to June 15 – in all reservoirs of fishery importance in the region. Also, throughout the year, fishermen are prohibited from fishing in the Techa River with all its tributaries and floodplain water bodies, as well as in Lake Sinara, Shershnevsky and Magnitogorsk reservoirs.

As for recreational fishing, it is prohibited all year round for all types of aquatic biological resources on the Techa River. From April 25 to June 5, a ban was imposed on fishing in the Troitsky and Yuzhnouralsk reservoirs, Lake Ulagach, and from May 5 to June 15 – in other water bodies of fishery importance in the region, with the exception of the extraction of aquatic biological resources from the shore without the use of watercraft.

As added by the regional Ministry of Ecology, the extraction of especially valuable aquatic biological resources is prohibited: sterlet, taimen, grayling, common sculpin, brook trout (trout), brine shrimp, and brine shrimp at the cyst stage. Violation of requirements may result in administrative and criminal liability.
