The purpose of their visit is to hold events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi.

Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region Denis Afanasyev took part in a gala concert at the school named after Magtymguly Fragi in the village of Funtovo, Privolzhsky district, which was donated to the region by decision of the President of Turkmenistan.

The Astrakhan region is actively expanding trade and humanitarian ties with Turkmenistan, holding joint events, one of which was the celebration of the anniversary. During the concert, Denis Afanasyev awarded school students and participants in the essay competition “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi” with memorable gifts from the Government of the Astrakhan region.

On stage, the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi, songs based on his poems, and dance compositions were performed by Astrakhan and Ashgabat children.

Denis Afanasyev expressed confidence that all events will contribute to preserving the memory of the outstanding poet and thinker, and will also serve to strengthen the multifaceted friendly ties between the Astrakhan region and Turkmenistan.
