The prosecutor’s office protested the transfer of land for a cemetery near the village of Bibirevo

The prosecutor’s office checked the legality of the construction of a cemetery near the village of Bibirevo. It turned out that in January 2023, the MBU “Customer Service for the Maintenance of Cemeteries” received land plots from the Ozernovsky rural settlement for indefinite use. The institution carried out cadastral work on one of the sites, and also organized public discussions on changing the permitted use of these lands.

The prosecutor’s investigation, however, showed that the very fact of transferring the land to the “Customer Service” contradicts the goals and subject of the institution’s charter. Employees of the Ivanovo interdistrict prosecutor’s office lodged protests against the transfer of land plots to the “Customer Service”.

In addition, the public discussions themselves were conducted with violations. The Ivanovo interdistrict prosecutor’s office reprimanded the head of the Ivanovo municipal district.

The supervisory authority is also a party to the trial in the regional court. It considers the claim of interested parties. They demand that the decision of the Council of the Ivanovo Municipal District, which concerns changes to the general plan and land use rules in the Ozernovsky rural settlement, be declared invalid.
