A 41-year-old resident of Yerevan contacted the police after confiding in a stranger in a bar. During the gathering, the victim gave him a bank card and even provided him with a PIN code to pay for alcohol and snacks.

As soon as the man was distracted for a minute, the courteous drinking companion disappeared, and along with the card. At that time, the Yerevan resident had 490 thousand rubles in his account.

Operatives were able to identify the attacker. He turned out to be a 34-year-old resident of the Dolgorukovsky district, who was released from prison on the day the crime was committed.

He gave part of the stolen money, namely 150 thousand rubles, to his mother, and spent the rest on his own needs.

At the moment, a criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft,” reports the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Lipetsk Region. The maximum sanction for the charged article provides for a term of up to six years.
