The regulations on the youth chamber of the Tyumen City Duma were approved by deputies at today’s meeting.

The chamber will include 36 young people (according to the number of people’s representatives) from 18 to 35 years old. 15 will represent the Tyumen administration, 15 – the city duma, six – four factions of political parties. When preparing the document, the positive practices of other regions were taken into account, and students were present at the meeting during the discussion.

“Managerial professionalism and life experience always take on new meanings when combined with the energy of young, promising people. Their courage and non-standard approaches when creating new projects will be in great demand, says deputy Ekaterina Veshkurtseva. “I can imagine that the youth chamber will become a platform for the formation of new, promising personnel and will create an atmosphere of mentoring.”

“The creation of a youth chamber is the right decision,” says deputy Ruslan Sabirov. — But if we take the model of the city duma, then the same ratio of representatives by party is necessary. The second proposal is to lower the age limit to 16 years, when a vision of youth policy is being formed, and many questions arise.”

“Youth parliamentarism in Tyumen has already proven its effectiveness, so I fully support the creation of a public body,” said deputy Andrei Potapov. — When forming the chamber, I propose to include the possibility of self-nomination. There are young people who are not students and do not belong to political parties. But they are active in social activities and various projects.”

“I will support the age of 18 years old, as specified in the regulations,” said deputy Elvira Amirova. “Children aged 14 and over have the opportunity to realize their activity in other areas.”

“I fully support the initiative to create a youth chamber of the city duma,” said the head of the city, Ruslan Kukharuk. — In Tyumen, it has become a tradition for young people to participate in the management of the city, and in some places, in matters of development of the region and country. The city’s youth administration is working, a creative team of the city’s head is being created, and now another public body will appear – in the city duma. Thus, we create a platform, a basis for the future.”

“About 37 million young citizens live in Russia, the lion’s share is in cities, about 120 thousand live here. President Vladimir Putin in his message announced the launch of a new national project “Youth of Russia” in 2024. Therefore, the decision made to create a youth chamber is relevant and timely, says Svetlana Ivanova, Chairman of the City Duma. “We accept the main document, but it is possible that we will return to it when considering the proposals of the deputies.”
