Moscow. 25th of April. INTERFAX.RU – After receiving pensions, more than 60% of citizens of retirement age return to the labor market, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said on Thursday.

“Due to the increase in the retirement age, we have an increase of almost 2.7 million people in the number of employed people who remain in the economy due to the increase in the retirement age (…) Even after receiving a pension, they return to the labor market, according to our observations, from 60% to 63% of those who received a pension,” Golikova said during the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

She added that the labor force participation rate for citizens aged 40 to 54 “has peaked at 93% at the end of last year—we’ve never had such rates for these ages.”
