Retailer Lenta is testing a new format of compact stores under the Vingarage brand in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

Retailer Lenta is testing a new format of compact wine and grocery stores. The company opens five retail outlets in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region under the Vingarage brand. Three ultra-convenience stores will appear in the cities of Murino and Kudrovo in the Leningrad Region. And tomorrow two more retail outlets of a new format will open in St. Petersburg. These are points with a sales floor area from 90 to 110 m², which are located in the closest locations to the buyer, reports New Retail.

The pilot stores will offer 1,600–1,700 items of goods. The assortment includes the most popular items of the company’s hypermarkets and supermarkets. The retail outlets offer Fresh and Ultra Fresh food products, as well as a wide range of alcoholic beverages, including wines of exclusive brands.

“We continue to experiment with different formats. Our new format is a compact store located in close proximity to the buyer. Its advantages will be a carefully selected range of food products and exclusive offers in the wine category,” comments Lenta General Director Vladimir Sorokin.

It was reported in February 2024 that the Lenta retail chain plans to develop the format of alcohol markets. As part of the pilot project, the company intends to open 10 Vingarage stores in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region in the first half of 2024.
