Kaluga National Guard members tried themselves as firefighters. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations offered their colleagues to go through a special obstacle course. And they did this as part of the celebration of the 375th anniversary of the fire department.
Combat jacket, pants, special shoes, belt, helmet – the total weight of this equipment is about 20 kg. And if the riot police are not intimidated by the mass (their body armor and weapons also weigh a lot), then they will learn for the first time about the features of this clothing and equipment.
Riot policemen are invited to go through the firefighter training course. It simulates different situations in real incidents: narrow openings, collapsing floors or ceilings, webs of wires, debris or furniture. A separate element is a narrow metal box in which you cannot turn around again.
Ilya Logvinov, engineer of the fire extinguishing training service organization department of Kaluga PSO No. 1, says: “It is difficult in its own way even for experienced employees, because there are elements that can be encountered in real conditions. And the main thing here is physical training, self-control, a cool mind “.
The fighters march, as expected, in units. At each stage, one insures the other. Unlike special forces operations, here the enemy is not a man with a weapon around the corner, but fire and smoke that are everywhere. Plus, you yourself may turn out to be an enemy. More precisely, your panic.
“Of course, it’s hard,” notes the riot policeman’s call sign “Korean”. – This requires special skill, this needs to be trained. I think each area has its own nuances. Somewhere it’s more difficult, somewhere it’s easier. But this is a man’s job, and it is certainly difficult.”
All participants in the fire quest passed this stage successfully. Now the departments do not rule out a reverse change of activity. Perhaps the rescuers will already come to visit the riot police and try out their training tests.
