In Ulyanovsk the stop “Ulitsa Tukhachevskogo” will be renamed / 73online.ru

In Ulyanovsk, the memory of graduates of the Higher Military Engineering School of Communications will be immortalized and the stop in the northern part of the city will be renamed, the press service of the mayor’s office reports.

Thus, according to the decree of the city administration, a memorial sign will be installed at house No. 19 on Tukhachevsky Street, where the Interregional Signal Corps Training Center is now located.

It is also planned to rename the tram stop “Ulitsa Tukhachevskogo” to “School of Communications”.

The mayor’s office recalled that this year marks the 72nd anniversary of the deployment of the Higher Military Engineering School of Communications in Ulyanovsk.

“During this time, over 25 thousand officers serving in Russia and abroad were trained, most of the graduates were awarded high state awards, seven were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, one – Hero of Russia,” the city administration said.
