The arrest took place on the territory of the Dzerzhinsky district.

In the Dzerzhinsky district of Volgograd, law enforcement officers detained two young men, natives of the neighboring republic, who are suspected of selling narcotic drugs.

“As a result of operational search activities, employees of the drug trafficking control unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Volgograd detained red-handed a 20-year-old and a 26-year-old citizen of one of the neighboring republics, suspected of drug trafficking,” commented the regional Main Directorate.

In the courtyards of houses in the Dzerzhinsky district of the city, police found 12 caches containing bundles of powdery substances made by the defendants. An examination carried out by specialists from the forensic center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region showed that the seizure was a narcotic drug – a mixture containing heroin.

Investigators established that the detainees purchased the prohibited substance via the Internet, and later sold it in a contactless manner and transferred it through hiding places.

The issue of initiating a criminal case is currently being decided. The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to 20 years in prison.

The detainees are under administrative arrest; upon expiration of the term, a preventive measure will be chosen for them.
