From April 1 to April 24, classes at the “School of Sobriety” were held in the church in the name of the All-Merciful Savior on the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod deanery of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese. The classes were conducted by the church cleric, Archpriest Andrei Kirillov.

At the School of Sobriety, listeners learned how to help addicted people and their loved ones find the path to conscious sobriety and freedom; how to get rid of the harmful habits of alcoholism, smoking and drug addiction; how to find harmony in the family.

Classes at the “School of Sobriety” were held in the form of a series of theoretical classes for people suffering from alcohol, drug or other addiction, as well as for those who want to help their relatives overcome any kind of addiction.

The course consisted of eleven classes, which took place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. More than 35 people attended the classes, 21 of whom took a vow of sobriety. At the end of the course, it was decided to hold meetings every week to support a sober lifestyle. In the future, it is planned to make the “Sobriety School” on the basis of the temple in the name of the Most Merciful Savior permanent.
