Bridges and overpasses along the route of vehicles to the Victory Parade were checked in the city

Specialists from the capital’s Municipal Services Complex additionally checked the technical condition of engineering structures along the route of military equipment to the Victory Parade. Pyotr Biryukov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Communal Services and Improvement, told reporters about this.

“There are 78 engineering structures along the route of military equipment – overpasses, bridges, overpasses, pedestrian and transport tunnels. Traditionally, every year before the gala event, they are thoroughly examined,” said Pyotr Biryukov.

The Deputy Mayor clarified that among these objects are the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky, Bolshoi Kamenny, Vysokoyauzsky and Besedinsky bridges, Ostapovsky and Kyiv overpasses, the Ulyanovsk overpass and the Mayakovsky tunnel.

“Control measurements of structures and under-bridge dimensions were carried out to confirm the possibility of passage of equipment, correctly calculate the load and ensure the safe passage of columns. Using a durable rubber coating, granite paving along the equipment route on Triumfalnaya Square was protected from possible deformation. After the ceremonial events, it will be dismantled,” explained Pyotr Biryukov.
