A man was detained for attempting to bribe a traffic police officer in southwest Moscow

A criminal case has been opened for attempted bribery of a traffic police officer in the southwest of the capital. Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the capital, reported this to the Moscow City News Agency.

“According to the investigation, on April 24, 2024, the 31-year-old defendant, while in a company car, tried to hand over a bribe to a traffic police officer for failure to draw up a report on an administrative offense for not having the right to drive a vehicle. However, the inspector refused and stopped the illegal actions. The man was detained by law enforcement officers,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to her, investigative actions were carried out with the defendant, he was charged under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 3 art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Attempted bribery to an official”). In the near future, the Investigative Committee will petition for the arrest of the man. An investigation is underway.
