On the occasion of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, the First Yaroslavsky TV channel launched the “Time of Feats” campaign, in which it invites residents of the region to participate. Yaroslavl residents send their stories about relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War.

Today Yaroslavna Liliya Troitskaya told her family story:

– My grandfather Guryev Alexander Evgenievich 11/24/1923-09/10/2023. Born into a large family in the village of Patrekhovo, Poshekhonsky district. I graduated from 7th grade when the war began. On August 24, 1942, at the age of 17, he was drafted into the army in the anti-aircraft artillery troops. Having issued warm uniforms and equipment, the troops were sent to the northwestern front. The regiment was stationed on Lake Seliger – small pine forest, swamps, frosts up to 40 degrees. The ground froze to 1 meter. In this area they held the defense against the German breakthrough to Leningrad until April 1943.

The planes flew day and night, the task was not to miss them. Then the regiment was transferred to the central front. After the defeat of the Germans at Stalingrad, the enemy was preparing an attack on Moscow. My grandfather’s regiment took part in the battles on the Kursk-Oryol Bulge. He ended the war in the city of Reichingberg, where he met victory. After the war he returned to his homeland, worked on a collective farm, got married, had 3 children. For a very long time I went to schools and told the children about the exploits and courage of our soldiers. I am very proud of my grandfather! He didn’t live 2 months before his 100th birthday.
