The Cabinet of Ministers supported amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; they will be submitted to the State Duma in the near future. The head of the Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, Vasily Piskarev, shared information about this, writes TASS.
The main innovations are increased responsibility for sabotage. Previously, the “ceiling” in punishment was imprisonment for a term of 30 years. Now, with the new amendments, saboteurs can face up to 35 years in prison.
First of all, such a decision should strengthen security “in the context of a special operation and increased sabotage activity of the enemy.”
